The winners and medalists of the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Championships among men and women were determined in the capital of Qatar.

In the final of the open section of the World Blitz Championship, which brought together 394 chess players from more than 70 countries, Nodirbek Abdusattorov competed against the FIDE rating leader and former World Champion Magnus Carlsen.

In a game marked by intense and exciting play, Magnus Carlsen won with a score of 2.5-1.5. Nodirbek Abdusattorov claimed the silver medal.

Among women, the World Champion in this discipline was Bibisara Assaubayeva of Kazakhstan.
